Why won't my wii connect to the internet?

it makes no sense, my computer is connected just fine the signal strength is excellent. The wii was connected earlier today now it won't work. The settings are all in already everything has been set up it just won't connect. My boyfriend set this up so maybe I'm just dumb and missing something here. The connection is wireless its working on the laptop just not the wii. Please help
