HELP!! DRY SKIN FLAKING ON FACE?!?!?

earlier this week i was breaking out a little on my face and around my nose so i made the mistake of rubbing the spots with a washcloth to try to get them to smooth down. now my skin feels rough at those places and is flaking off. It is also red and inflamed looking. Please help I don't know how to get rid of it and when i try to put makeup on it the makeup flakes off!!
