Why do conservatives ignore the good in government and excuse the bad in the private sector?

They seem to want to lay at the feat of government the failures of the banks (cornerstone of private sector) of the oil companies (gas prices and oil spills) of the lack of job growth (most fortune 500 companies are sitting on record profits. Why should I vote for a person to take a job that he spends all day slamming in an institution that he hates?
